Bold shapes were used to create the rumination collage. From the stripe, the stance of the woman and the cut diamond. These forefront the collage to create the depth needed to express the feeling of looking back, or within. It’s as if the child is being scolded with a soft feeling of being unsettled. The diamond in the rough pattern plays upon this feeling. Many shapes dance this uncomfortable dance yet all fit perfectly together the way they were meant to be.
The graphic pattern pairs well with the softer patterns, Bubbly and Fringe, in the Rumination Series.
